Note in my babybook from my father
To my Son, February 25th, 1948
I want you to know when you turn 18 that this babybook was given to me by the parents of a fine young man who died in my arms in the Jungles of Bataan. He was only one of thousands of young men who died in as ruthless and ferocious a war as this supposedly intelligent human race has thus far engaged in. If in your lifetime, you can expose the folly and stupidity of mass conflicts, you will have done well.
Your Father
